1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Ignite Test Pilot ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and discloses your information. This Chrome Extension is designed to record user interactions within the browser and generate automated test code.

2. Information We Collect

2.1. Local Data (On your device)

The Extension stores data strictly locally on your device using browser storage. This includes:

  • Authentication Token: Used to verify your active license with our SaaS platform.
  • Machine ID: A unique identifier generated locally to enforce single-device license limits securely.
  • Recorded Events: Steps you record (clicks, inputs, website URLs) are stored temporarily in the extension's memory and local storage only while you are actively using it.

2.2. Data Sent to Our Servers

We operate a web platform to manage licenses. The Extension communicates with our servers only for the following purposes:

  • License Validation: When you validate your token, the extension sends the token and your Machine ID securely to our API to confirm your subscription status.

We do NOT:

  • Track your browsing history outside of the specific tab you are actively recording.
  • Send your recorded test scripts, macros, or any website content to our servers. All recording data stays on your machine.
  • Sell your data to third parties.

3. Permissions Justification

  • activeTab: Required to attach the debugger and record interactions on the specific tab you are testing.
  • scripting: Required to inject the recording logic into the page.
  • storage: Required to save your settings and license token locally.
  • downloads: Required to allow you to export and save your generated code to your computer.
